Johl joined Maison des Animaux as one of the early employees and has grown with the business, progressing into his role as General Manager. With a background in finance, customer service and management, he brings a wealth of expertise to both the operational and strategic side of the retreat.

Over the years, Johl has played a key part in shaping the systems and processes that underpin the business today, from staff training and development to financial planning and day-to-day operations. His focus on growth, improvement and high standards ensures that Maison continues to raise the level of care offered to both dogs and owners.

Balancing strategic oversight with a hands-on approach, Johl works closely with the team and is a familiar face to customers each day. His leadership helps create a professional, caring environment where both staff and dogs can thrive.

Millie started her career at Maison as an apprentice and has grown with us ever since. By achieving her Animal Welfare & Care Level 2 and Level 3 certifications, along with Animal First Aid training, she built the strong foundation that supports her work today as Groomer.

Her years of hands on experience in our daycare mean she knows how to make every dog feel safe, calm, and cared for. Whether it’s a bath, trim, or full groom, Millie combines technical skill with a gentle, reassuring approach that puts each dog at ease.

From apprentice to professional groomer, Millie’s journey shows how passion evolves into expertise and embodies what we stand for.

Megan’s journey with Maison began as an apprentice, and through hard work, dedication, and a genuine passion for dogs, she has progressed to her current role as Supervisor.

 Along the way, she achieved both her Animal Welfare & Care Level 2 and Level 3 certifications, as well as Animal First Aid training.

With experience that includes working alongside security dogs, Megan brings a calm authority and deep understanding of behaviour to her role. She plays an active part in guiding and developing our team, sharing her knowledge to help others grow.

Now undertaking the highest-level qualification in behavioural training, Megan is also working towards becoming Maison’s official in-house licensed trainer — a natural next step in her progression. Her story is a true reflection of our values

Emily first joined Maison as an apprentice, completing her Animal Welfare & Care Level 2 qualification and proving herself to be one of our most dedicated and capable daycare assistants. She is now working towards her Level 3 certification and has also completed her Animal First Aid training.

Recently stepping up into a Supervisor position, Emily combines her hands-on experience with a natural ability to lead. Known for her consistency, hard work, and fun attitude, she brings honesty and energy to the leadership team while continuing to set a high standard of care in the daycare.

Chloe joined Maison through her apprenticeship, successfully achieving her Animal Welfare & Care qualification and stepping into a full-time role as Daycare Assistant. Since completing her training, she has shown impressive growth, particularly in her ability to manage dog behaviour and confidently care for groups of all sizes and temperaments.

Committed, reliable, and hardworking, Chloe is already proving herself to be a key part of the daycare team. With her strong work ethic and passion for animal care, she is thriving in her role and is certainly one to watch for the future.

Now a long way into her Animal Welfare & Care apprenticeship, Rebecca has already become an integral part of the team. She excels in the theory side of her training and shows a strong understanding of dog behaviour, which she puts into practice every day in the daycare.

Known for her supportive and positive attitude, Rebecca is a reliable presence for both her colleagues and the dogs in her care. With her enthusiasm for learning and clear natural ability, she is well on her way to becoming a skilled professional in the industry.

Maddison’s love for dogs shines through in everything she does, and her bubbly, fun personality makes her a much-loved part of the team. She’s the kind of person who can lift the mood of both staff and dogs alike, bringing laughter and energy to each day in the daycare.

While working through her Animal Welfare & Care apprenticeship, Maddison is building her skills in behaviour and dog care with the goal of turning her passion into a long-term career. With her enthusiasm and infectious humour, she’s already made a big impact at Maison.

Animal Management level 3

Lewis has been around Maison for years, first joining us on work experience while completing his Animal Management course at Brooksby Melton College. After impressing both the team and the dogs during his placement and casual shifts, he’s now officially part of the team as an apprentice.

Dogs naturally gravitate towards Lewis thanks to his calm, steady presence and easy confidence. He fits right in with the team and brings a great balance of reliability and humour — especially with his soft spot for dogs that do silly things.
