General Manager

Johl has been part of Maison des Animaux from the early stages of the business and has grown with it into his role as General Manager.  With a background in finance, customer service and management, he brings a strong mix of practical experience, operational understanding and strategic thinking to the retreat.

Over the years, Johl has played a central role in shaping many of the systems, processes and standards that Maison runs on today. From staff training and development to financial planning, customer communication and day-to-day operations, his focus has always been on building a business that improves continuously rather than standing still.

Johl is particularly passionate about raising standards within dog care, not just through safe supervision, but through better training, clearer processes and a deeper understanding of behaviour. His approach balances high expectations with genuine care, helping the team develop while ensuring the dogs receive thoughtful, structured and consistent support.

Still very much hands-on, Johl works closely with both staff and customers and remains a familiar face around the retreat. His leadership helps drive Maison’s commitment to professionalism, growth and creating an environment where dogs, owners and staff can all thrive.

Millie started her career at Maison as an apprentice and has grown with us ever since. By achieving her Animal Welfare & Care Level 2 and Level 3 certifications, along with Animal First Aid training, she built the strong foundation that supports her work today as Groomer.

Her years of hands on experience in our daycare mean she knows how to make every dog feel safe, calm, and cared for. Whether it’s a bath, trim, or full groom, Millie combines technical skill with a gentle, reassuring approach that puts each dog at ease.

From apprentice to professional groomer, Millie’s journey shows how passion evolves into expertise and embodies what we stand for.

Animal First Aid

Megan’s journey with Maison began as an apprentice, and through hard work, dedication and a genuine passion for dogs, she has progressed into her current role as Supervisor.

Along the way, she has achieved her Animal Welfare & Care Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications, completed Animal First Aid training, and become a Certified Companion Dog Trainer and member of the Guild of Dog Trainers.

Now over halfway through her advanced behavioural training course, Megan continues to develop her knowledge while actively applying it within Maison. She has begun working with customers’ dogs, supporting their confidence, behaviour and progress in the daycare environment, while also helping deliver the staff training courses we have built as part of Maison’s internal development programme.

With experience that includes working alongside security dogs, Megan brings calm authority, practical understanding and a thoughtful approach to her role. She plays an active part in guiding and developing the team, sharing her knowledge to help others grow and helping raise the standard of care across the retreat.

Megan’s progression is a true reflection of Maison’s values: learning, development, high standards and a genuine commitment to improving the lives of the dogs in our care.

Emily first joined Maison as an apprentice, completing her Animal Welfare & Care Level 2 qualification and proving herself to be one of our most dedicated and capable daycare assistants. She is now working towards her Level 3 certification and has also completed her Animal First Aid training.

Recently stepping up into a Supervisor position, Emily combines her hands-on experience with a natural ability to lead. Known for her consistency, hard work, and fun attitude, she brings honesty and energy to the leadership team while continuing to set a high standard of care in the daycare.

Chloe joined Maison through her apprenticeship, successfully achieving her Animal Welfare & Care qualification and stepping into a full-time role as Daycare Assistant. Since completing her training, she has shown impressive growth, particularly in her ability to manage dog behaviour and confidently care for groups of all sizes and temperaments.

Committed, reliable, and hardworking, Chloe is already proving herself to be a key part of the daycare team. With her strong work ethic and passion for animal care, she is thriving in her role and is certainly one to watch for the future.

Maddison’s love for dogs shines through in everything she does, and her bubbly, fun personality makes her a much-loved part of the team. She’s the kind of person who can lift the mood of both staff and dogs alike, bringing laughter and energy to each day in the daycare.

While working through her Animal Welfare & Care apprenticeship, Maddison is building her skills in behaviour and dog care with the goal of turning her passion into a long-term career. With her enthusiasm and infectious humour, she’s already made a big impact at Maison.

Lewis has been around Maison for years, first joining us on work experience while completing his Animal Management course at Brooksby Melton College. After impressing both the team and the dogs during his placement and casual shifts, he’s now officially part of the team as an apprentice.

Dogs naturally gravitate towards Lewis thanks to his calm, steady presence and easy confidence. He fits right in with the team and brings a great balance of reliability and humour — especially with his soft spot for dogs that do silly things.
