At Maison des Animaux, we don’t just care for dogs — we develop people. Progression is at the heart of everything we do, and our leadership team is proof of that.

Our Supervisors and Groomer all began their journey with us as apprentices, working their way up through training, dedication, and experience. Even our General Manager, Johl, started out as a Daycare Assistant before stepping into leadership and management.

That’s why progression is such an important part of who we are. We believe in giving people the opportunity to grow, learn, and build long-term careers in animal care.

Training & Qualifications

All apprentices begin their journey by completing an Animal Welfare & Care Level 2 qualification as part of their apprenticeship. This provides the foundation in animal care, welfare, and hands-on experience with dogs.

For those who excel in their roles and are committed to growing with us long term, we invest further by supporting additional qualifications, such as:

Animal Welfare & Care Level 3
Animal First Aid
Specialist qualifications (for example, grooming or advanced behavioural training).

This approach allows us to reward dedication while helping our team progress their careers through Maison.

Apprenticeships

Most of our team begin their careers through an Animal Welfare & Care Apprenticeship with KEITS Training Services, a provider we’ve proudly partnered with for nearly five years. These apprenticeships give you the chance to earn your Level 2 qualification in Animal Welfare & Care while gaining hands-on experience in our daycare and boarding setting.

Work Experience

We regularly support school and college students who need a placement as part of their course. These short-term experiences give young people a valuable insight into working in professional animal care.

Progression Pathways

At Maison, your career can grow with you. Apprentices who show dedication and ability have the opportunity to progress into full-time daycare assistant roles — and from there, into leadership positions such as Supervisor or Groomer. Our track record proves it: every senior role we have today has been filled by someone who started at the ground level and worked their way up.
