Over the past 6 years, we’ve carefully developed our facilities, trained our team, and refined our approach — all with one goal: to provide safe, calm, and enriching social experiences for dogs.
We don’t believe in overexcitement or overstimulation. Instead, we offer structured play, purposeful enrichment, and time to rest — all tailored to your dog’s needs. Our playgroups are thoughtfully matched by size, energy, age, and temperament, and our team is trained to understand and develop canine behaviour — not just supervise it.
This balanced approach means dogs leave us feeling content, not exhausted — and owners have peace of mind knowing their dog is in safe, experienced hands.
The first step is to book a visit — a chance for you and your dog to look around our facilities and meet the team. We don’t offer short-notice bookings for new dogs, because getting it right for your dog (and the dogs they’ll join) is our top priority.
Once the visit is complete, your dog begins an induction period, where they’re carefully assessed by a senior team member. This allows us to understand their needs, monitor their behaviour, and ensure they’ll thrive in our environment.
We only accept dogs who benefit from the daycare setting and are a good fit for our existing groups. Once the induction is complete and your dog is happy and settled, they’re officially part of the Maison family.
Daycare isn’t the right fit for every dog — and that’s okay. Some dogs find the busy, social environment overwhelming, which is exactly why we have an induction period: to give every dog the best chance to settle in and thrive.
We include basic training and behaviour support as part of our daycare service. However, we’re not currently equipped to support dogs with more serious behavioural challenges, such as resource guarding or intense dominance behaviours. In these cases, we strongly recommend working with a qualified behaviourist before considering daycare, as this type of environment can unintentionally make things worse.
It’s also completely normal for dogs to feel a little nervous when they first join us — just like we might on our first day at a new job or school. With patience and support from our team, most dogs settle in beautifully.
Please note: We do not accept all breeds. See below for our current breed restrictions.
Our breed policy is not based on personal preference or dislike of any breed or gender of dog. It exists to protect the safety, wellbeing, and harmony of the environment we’ve carefully built at Maison.
The breeds we’ve chosen not to accept are based on years of first-hand experience working closely with dogs in a busy daycare setting. These decisions reflect patterns we've observed over time — including behaviour traits, energy levels, and group compatibility — and are designed to support the best possible experience for every dog in our care.
The following breeds are not accepted at Maison due to their naturally intense and intrusive play style. While these behaviours are often not aggressive, they can overwhelm more balanced dogs, trigger defensive reactions, and increase the risk of conflict within the group.
To maintain a calm and safe environment, we only accept dogs whose play style aligns with the structure and social dynamics we promote at Maison.
For safety and group harmony, we do not accept unneutered males at Maison.
Unneutered males can create tension within social groups, particularly with neutered males, due to the scent they naturally give off. This often leads to unwanted dominance behaviours or conflict from other dogs.
Young unneutered males (puppies and adolescents) are also more likely to display behaviours such as excessive marking, humping, and attempts to dominate. These behaviours can disrupt the calm environment we maintain, which is why we do not accept them at this stage of development either.
